The Latest Champions Escapade [Sep. 30th, 2009|12:15 am]
Well, we certainly haven't been doing things by half measures.

Watch it bigger if you can; it has decent HD.

Something tickles me when someone yells across the zone, "Why did every season of the Power Rangers just run by?"

In the name of research... [Sep. 3rd, 2009|01:55 am]
So, working in the industry as I do, it behooves me to check out what comes up on the market, and for that reason I fired up Champions Online today.

The results have been interesting. I haven't played it enough to share my thoughts yet, but I have played it enough to make this. )

Medication side effects can be pretty amusing. [Jun. 25th, 2009|03:31 pm]
"This medication may permanently stain contact lenses."

Guess I'm wearing my glasses for the next three days or so. I'm so excited.

Average internet communication bundled up into one precious song.

Poke that adventure game corpse some [Mar. 24th, 2009|05:15 pm]
Every so often I forget that Tim Schafer, a man whose creations I adore, has a very amusing blog up on Double Fine.

And then someone links me something like this.

Warning: pixel hunting in the extreme. But nostalgic nonetheless!

I enjoyed this. [Feb. 27th, 2009|06:03 pm]
I probably shouldn't have. But I did.

If you people out there enjoyed Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, do yourself a favor and get the DVD.

I've had Commentary! The Musical on loop all night. It's a great 42 minutes of songs that primarily poke fun at all the actors and writers in a good-natured way. Also the banter between songs is precious.

In this game geekery chapter... [Dec. 16th, 2008|11:56 pm]
I discuss a game with an awesome premise that could have been far more awesome with better gameplay and polish -- Lionheart: Legacy of the Crusader.

Read on for geekery. )

WoW Plans: Here Comes the Lich King [Nov. 11th, 2008|12:43 pm]
So.

Definitely leveling my Hunter first, but I will make my requisite DK for the sake of having him for interaction purposes. I also got my Priest to 60, primed to be the lone non-DK in Outland instance runs for the next while.

Tradeskills are going to be, uh, interesting. I'll level leatherworking, natch, but I think my next one might be inscription. Gotta have my glyphs, yo. Fishing, as usual, will be a last-ditch "I am bored at 80, what to do? I GUESS I'LL FISH," thing. First Aid and probably Cooking will be leveled along with.

I felt kinda sad raiding ZA for the last relevant time last night. Definitely can't wait for all the content ahead. I had a lot of fun with beta.

Here it comes, ladies and gents.

Faaable 2! [Oct. 28th, 2008|03:10 pm]
Haven't beaten it yet, but I thought I'd post my impressions now that I've sunk quite a few hours in the game.

Impressions! )

Spore: now with actual reviewing [Sep. 10th, 2008|09:10 am]
Okay, here are my actual thoughts on Spore, now that I've put quite a few hours into it. There's not really much to "ruin" in regards to spoilers, but if you want to preserve a sense of wonder you may not want to read.

Look out, she's writing a review again. )

So, Spore. [Sep. 9th, 2008|09:05 am]
Right now, this is what I have to say about Spore:

Cut for friendslists.. )

I'm warning you now [Sep. 4th, 2008|12:08 pm]
I apologize in advance for the sheer amount of geekery that will occur on this journal over the next few months. This fall is an autumn of gaming glut, and you can reasonably expect design rants, musings, and the occasional in-character post of whatever the hell I happen to be doing in the current game in my PC/360.

I feel like I'm in the Twilight Zone. [Aug. 21st, 2008|11:25 am]
So a coworker and I were arguing about the merits and drawbacks of the WotLK cinematic and the community reaction thereof.

Somehow I've found myself as the person who isn't going "BUT OMG LORE!"

Spoilers for those who haven't seen it. )

PSA to raving game fan idjits: It's not the late 90s anymore [Aug. 19th, 2008|11:11 am]
You know, I love me some classic games. The year of a game's release has very little to do with whether or not it's an awesome gameplay experience, and with programs that emulate DOS and slower PCs, we can continue to play the games of old.

And if you want to play those games, guys, please -- play those games. They haven't been obliterated. You can get them really cheap. Hell, I just played Fallout again on GameTap.

But please stop trying to drag game developers kicking and screaming back to the late 90s.

I'm talking about Diablo 3 and Fallout 3, here. )

WoW Forums deliver some WTFery [Jul. 10th, 2008|11:18 am]
The Tale of Tflany

Once upon a time, there was a fellow who had a mage in a guild on Mannoroth. There was a falling out, it seems, and he sold his character. Eventually, because he was no longer in the guild, someone revoked his access.

This lit a cold, angry flame in the heart of the individual who felt he was wronged.

The initial post and ultimatum.

This thread goes crazy places, but here's some related material.

GMs must comply.

Also, unrelated, but for extra credit:

What?

EDIT:

Tflany's at it again in the CSF!
